 Move over Hubert . . . .Here comes Lignier-Michelot and his startling 2005’s.The '05 Lignier-Michelot's have arrived and they are sensational. The 2005's are by far the best wines that have ever been made at the estate. From the stellar Bourgogne Rouge to the extremely underrated Clos de la Roche these wines are absolutely overflowing with luscious 2005 fruit. They have great crackling acidities, impeccable balance, and fantastic purity along with sappy sappy fruit. This is an estate we have followed for a long time, and it is great to see how much the wines have improved and how they have definitely reached their apogee in 2005. These wines are extremely limited, so as usual with all these 2005 Burgundies it is first-come, first-serve. As an aside the "Facconieres" bottling is quickly becoming the 1er Cru to get in Morey-St. Denis. As Rousseau does with Clos St. Jacques, Mugnier and Roumier with Amoureuses Lignier-Michelot is now making arguably Grand Cru wine from his incredible plot in Faconnieres.
