Perraud (Cotes de la Moliere) 2009 Moulin-a-Vent Sans SouffreIsabelle and Bruno Perraud have 1.5 hectares in Moulin-a-Vent, certified organic. The yield for the 2009 was very low, about 23 hl/ha. Vinified and bottled without sulfur and without filtration, the wine should be decanted. This is a lovely wine of terroir made by winemakers dedicated to quality through great vineyard work and vinification without additives of any kind. Please see cotes-de-la-moliere.com for more info and photos. red | 14 in stock | Organic | $22.99 |

Perraud (Cotes de la Moliere) 2009 Vin de France Cote de Poquelin Sans SouffreThis tiny production of Beaujolais was made from organic grapes giving yields of only 15 hectolitres per hectare. It's a rather dense wine for a Beaujolais featuring lovely dark berry fruit with an intriguing earthy component. It will benefit from decanting as it was not filtered and was made entirely without added sulfites. Highly recommended. red | 20 in stock | Organic | $20.99 |

Terres Dorees (Jean-Paul Brun) 2009 Beaujolais ChardonnayFrom Chardonnay grown on limestone vineyards in the southern Beaujolais, this lovely wine is one of the best values in the store. No new oak and natural vinification gives a balanced Chardonnay that's great at a party or with lighter foods...

Terres Dorees 2009 Beaujolais Rose d'FolieJean-Paul makes his Rose with a bit of fruit from each of his Cru holdings, and a dose of his Vieilles Vignes sites in the south of Beaujolais. This assemblage ferments for about one month! Typical of the ripe 2009 vintage there are lots of fruits, but at the same time a crisp acidic undertone. A fun and refreshing summer quaffer. Thevenet, Charly 2008 Regnie Grain et GranitCharly Thevenet is the son of Jean-Paul Thevenet and this is his second vintage from his own 1.5 hectare plot of 75 year-old vines in Regnie, farmed with biodynamic methods and vinified with minimal SO2 (20mg/L total). The wine is aged for 12 months in 4 year-old Burgundy barrels. In 2008 he harvested quite late looking for a bit more maturity and while the wine is quite ripe it is beautifully balanced and has good length. The aromas of cherry, strawberry and violet are very pretty with quite deep and persistent black cherry and berry fruit on the palate. A delicious wine to drink now but it should develop nicely for another 5 to 8 years. Discountable to $28.79 on a case, it is well worth the price as the top Cru Beaujolais remain one of the greatest values in wine today. Highly recommended! red | 24 in stock | Natural | $31.99 |

Bellevue 2005 Lussac-St.-Emilion Chateau de Bellevue is a supple and delicious blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The soil is clay over limestone, the grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with wild yeasts. The 2005 vintage is particularly successful here, with gorgeous fruit that is not over-oaked and more mineral character than in most Bordeaux due to the organic farming. The original owner (a NY'er who is a Bordeaux fanatic) has now sold us over 8 cases of this wine and we keep buying it because it's so damn good. 1981 produced some excellent wines, and this is one, from the same team and family as Haut Brion; La Mission is often just as good. Absolutely classic Graves; very fragrant with cedar, stone, black-currant, tobacco, it's a wine with great finesse and elegance, beautifully balanced. We wish that every Napa wine maker was required to taste this before they make their fruit bombs! It's true that it's not cheap, but for properly cellared mature Bordeaux of top quality we think it's worth it. JW red | 22 in stock | $199.99 |

Peybonhomme-les-Tours 2007 Premières Cote de Blaye Cru Bourgeois (A new shipment of the 2007 has just arrived!)Beautiful high-toned red currant and cassis fruit, the palate is ripe and supple with prune and cocoa added to the berry fruits. Lighter in weight but more food friendly than the two previous vintages. Proprietor Jean-Luc Hubert does fabulous work in the vineyard and has been certified organic by Ecocert for many years. A great Bordeaux that can be enjoyed by itself and will accompany a wide variety of cuisines... red | 38 in stock | Organic | $12.99 |
