An austere and elegant version of the CRB Cot that is built to last. Quite closed at first, on the second day there are lovely aromatics, reminiscent of Pineau d'Aunis, with hints of red currant, strawberry and white pepper. The palate is light but intense with darker red fruits and very good length. This should cellar well - or open the day before to enjoy now. (Those who buy this should also buy the excellent 2007 Guerrerie, from the Puzelat brothers. Amazon, watch out!)

The very low yields at Clos Roche Blanche in 2008 have given more concentration and complexity of fruit to the Gamay. Ripe aromas of plum and strawberry confit with floral notes. The palate is dense with ripe fruit , floral and earthy flavors, with good acidity to match. Quite luscious to drink now, it should also cellar well - how long? Catherine and Didier opened a 1975 in their cellar this past winter which was aging but lovely....

A blend of Cabernet Franc and Malbec(Cot), this friendly dog-named red needs to open up a little, but then shows satisfying earthy, dark blackberry and blueberry fruit. It's a fairly big wine, balanced by good acidity, and should improve for a couple of years, at least. DL
