*This wine is in the warehouse and will not be available for pick-up or delivery until after Labor Day.2008 is a great vintage for moelleux and demi-sec Vouvray as the high acidity of the vintage gives fabulous brightness and balance to the extra sweetness. The Huet 2008 Haut-Lieu is superb now with terrines, foie gras, vegetable soups, mild cheeses and much more - and don't hesitate to age ten more years.
The Armenier sisters made a great regular Cuvée in 2006, which is delicious now or over the next 10 to 15 years. Mostly Grenache, with Mourvedre, Syrah and Cinsault. Here's the review from Livingstone-Learmonth, the most reliable Rhône writer; "Quite a full robe; there are traces of black jam in a reserved, but quietly ticking-over nose. There is a nice biscuity after air — this bouquet suggests a sunny, pretty wine. The palate has a sound core of red fruit — cherry, raspberry — that comes with a gradual, refined gain in tannin as it goes. This has a very pretty sequence through the palate — it is nice and faithful to its place, bang on STGT (that means a real wine of terroir), is not forced in any way. Very pure wine."
Very good, very dark fruit like blackberries, very powerful and rich. "Tres mure, tres masculin" said Bernard. JBT
Red and dark fruits and medium bodied, less "sauvage", definitely Nuits St Georges leaning toward the Vosne Romanee side of the spectrum. JBT
Primarily red fruits here and more structure, with the tannins more present and with nice acidity on the finish. JBT
