Wine from the Veronelli cellar, and from a distinguished American collection: the Rhone

Share

It's not surprising that Luigi Veronelli had more in his cellar beside just Italian wine (not that there's anything wrong with just Italian wine). Included here are some very rare bottles.

As I've written before, the Veronelli cellar was humid, and so hard on paper labels. In the case of the wines from the American collection, there was an accident in the cellar, and some labels were stained with wine as a result; we've tried to indicate where it's really noticeable. However, as they say, you don't drink the label. Jamie Wolff

The Veronelli cellar was very hard on labels – too humid for paper (fine for corks). We sometimes clean old bottles to remove years of dust and dirt so that they are more conventional in appearance, but this time we’ve decided that you would enjoy sharing the kick we get out of having the wines as-is, direct from the cellar; it’s part of the pleasure of the history of these bottles.
