Actually, the collections are American - it's the wines that come from all-over. In any event the bottles have been properly stored, and we guarantee condition, as always.
La Rioja Alta 2005 Rioja Reserva Viña Arana
Rarely scene outside of the Basque Country in northern Spain, this is La Rioja Alta's smallest production, most traditional in style and iconic wine. Comprised of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo and aged in used American oak, this shows lush red fruits, touches of umami and cedar, with a beautifully balanced, medium bodied, and silky structure. A lovely wine that will evolve for many years. Most recently I had a chance to taste a vertical of this wine which included the '96, '91, '85, and '78 vintages — all of these wines showed very well, and, paired with a perfectly cooked piece of beef tenderloin wih a rich sauce, was a magnificent study in food pairing and traditional Rioja. cb
Weiser-Künstler 2015 Mosel Riesling Wolfer Sonnenlay Kabinett
The Wolfer Sonnenlay is a south-facing vineyard, located in a side valley adjacent to the Mosel. This is the first vintage that Weiser-Künstler has done a Sonnenlay Kabinett, and I couldn't be more excited. The nose is very vegetal and floral, like standing in a field of white flowers, with wet stone with moss. Almost too easy to drink; at first soft and fruity with red peach and mango, then a cleansing acidity washes over the palate, readying you for the next sip. Drink now and often! Cari Bernard
