Colin-Morey 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes

Fuller and richer that the Ancegnieres, Russell says this has a Puligny character and finesse. It is floral and fragrant, has great ripeness, full flavor, and great length. -jbt

Colin-Morey 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Embrazees

The Embrazees vineyard is located just below Les Baudines and borders Santenay. Wines from Les Embrazees are fuller and fatter than those of Les Baudines which is cooler and more exposed to the wind. Embrazees has reddish soil from the clay and is full of small stones from the limestone and these qualities really come out in the wine. This wine illustrates the very meaning of terroir in Burgundy; you could use it as a textbook example of classic Chassagne terroir. It is rich, full-bodied, and full-flavored with a spine of acidity that comes out on the finish.  This is another lovely 2011 that is open now and will be good to drink while it puts on more weight with age.

Colin-Morey 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Ancegnieres

Next to Puligny, bordering Batard Montrachet, this is one of the rare village level Burgundies that borders a Grand Cru. Made from 85 year old vines, the wine is honeyed and rich. It's a full-bodied wine that smells of white flowers, is very complex, and has a long finish. This is one of my favorite wines from this Domaine; it's one of the wines that came from Pierre-Yves' father's properties.

Colin-Morey 2010 Meursault Les Narvaux

Lovely minerality and a scent like toasted bread & toasted hazelnuts, lots of extract,  a very full bodied white wine with bracing acidity. Very nice, very fine, and powerful.  This will age beautifully.  Like many big white burgundies this will benefit from decanting to help it open up. -jbt

Colin-Morey 2010 Puligny-Montrachet "Le Trezin"

Trezin is a cool climate vineyard and the wines can be very acidic. So Pierre-Yves waits for the Trezin until very, very late. Along with the St Aubin le Banc, these two vineyards are his latest harvests.Trezin is the only villages level Puligny on the hill of Montrachet; everything else is 1er or Grand Cru. Great Puligny is a rare wine; many are merely good. We think this one attains greatness; it is very refined, pure, and racy. -jbt

Colin-Morey 2010 Saint-Aubin Le Banc

This is Pierre-Yves village level St. Aubin and it is always picked very late as it is a cool site and is often the last parcel to be harvested.  This has citrus-y aromas and is very high toned; it has good acidity and will put on weight as it ages.  This is one of those St. Aubins that wants to be a Puligny-Montrachet when it grows up. -jbt
