Introducing WINE LAB with Jon Bonné: Session 1 — American Rebels!

We are always eager to learn more about what Jon Bonné is working on. He's a very busy man these days, relocating to New York after 15 years on the West Coast, and balancing his diverse assignments as the San Francisco Chronicle's contributing wine editor, senior contributing editor for Punch, and the U.S. columnist for Decanter magazine.

His years of research, travel, and tasting through the vast vineyard area of California as the Chronicle's wine editor resulted in The New California Wine. It is the very best reference to date for any wine lover looking for insight into the fascinating history of the Golden State's wine industry as well as a catalog of the new wave of producers who are shining light on the unsung terroirs, varieties, and gastronomic potential that are coming to define California wines today. (It also contains some pretty marvelous maps!)

Jon is now hard at work tasting his way through France's most exciting regions and geekiest cellars in preparation for his follow-up book, The New French Wine. We are pleased to announce a special series of tasting events — Wine Lab with Jon Bonné — in which he will isolate the themes and regions that he is thinking or writing about and share his insights and first-hand research with you, dear curious customer, over a lineup of excellent wines from our shelves.

The first installment of Wine Lab with Jon Bonné will take place here at CSW on Wednesday, July 8th. The theme is American Rebels, in which we will explore the jam-packed field of innovative winemakers from California, Oregon, Washington, and New York, through the wines of Arnot-Roberts, Forlorn Hope, Minimus, Analemma, Division, Southold, and more! Please check our website for upcoming installments of Wine Lab, which will focus on the Jura, Champagne, and Beaujolais.

In order to facilitate a more in-depth and interactive tasting, we request that you RSVP to office@chambersstwines.com for one the following time slots: 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, and 6:30pm. This is a rare opportunity to taste and talk with one of the most professional and pioneering journalists in the world of wine. We hope to see you in Wine Lab! Ariana Rolich
