Who says Summer's over?

Introducing... Les Fouques Pétillant Rosé!

Share

We have been big fans of the wines from Domaine Les Fouques for many years now. Their rosé wines - the cuvée Aubigue and La Londe - are fantastic expressions of the classic Provençal style, and their nearly 20 years of bio-dynamic agriculture (aided by their flocks of sheep, guinea fowl, ducks, and chickens) are an inspiration to winemakers and farmers alike.

Today, we're happy to announce the arrival of their Pétillant Rosé, available for the first time in the U.S.! A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, with a touch of Rolle (Vermentino), it's the perfect way to extend your Summer.

Along with the shipment of the Pétillant, we are also very excited about the new vintage of the "Cuvée Aubigue Blanc," which is just plain delicious in 2015!

Les Fouques NV Côtes de Provence Rosé Petillant

From Michéle and Yves Gros at Domaine Les Fouques, this is the new Pétillant Rosé! Pale hued, perfumed and floral on the nose, with peaches and stone fruit on the palate. Méthode Traditionelle, Extra Brut, with great acidity and a refreshing chalky finish.  Eben Lillie

Les Fouques 2015 Côtes de Provence Aubigue Blanc

This vintage of the Cuvée de l'Aubigue Blanc is our favorite to date! A cornucopia of stone fruit and floral aromas. Quince, pear, honeysuckle on the nose, then lemon compote, herbs and mint along with perfect weight on the palate, and a long mineral finish. 80% Rolle (Vermentino), and equal parts Ugni Blanc and Clairette filling out the blend. Les Fouques 2015 Côtes de Provence l'Aubigue Rosé

This is my candidate for Best Rosé Value of the Year! Made from 60% Cinsault, 30% Grenache and 10% Syrah by Yves Gros and family on their beautiful Biodynamic estate near Hyères in Provence. Great farming and natural wild-yeast fermentation yields this lovely wine which is particularly delicious in the 2015 vintage. Complex, subtle aromas of peach, raspberry, rose, stone and Provençal herbs, really pretty, leading to peach and berry fruit on the palate with mineral and citrus flavors. Light but dense with great balance and fabulous length. This is a wonderful rosé to enjoy by itself and with enough depth to accompany almost anything from seafood to salads to grilled chicken or pork.

Les Fouques 2015 Côtes de Provence La Londe

We always have a bottle or two of good rosé on the Thanksgiving table, and it's funny how they're the first bottles to disappear!  We're very proud of our rosé selection at Chambers Street - all fermented with wild yeasts and organically farmed, giving distinctive wines that pair beautifully with the autumnal flavors of Thanksgiving. We love the Les Fouques, but there are many more and all priced for a holiday crowd - try Ferme St Martin, Laguerre, Peybonhome, Fresche, Madonna Grazie, Romeo del Castello and many more...

The 2015 Rosé La Londe is a beautiful wine and a real rosé of terroir! Made from 70% Cinsault and 10% each of Grenache, Syrah and Vermentino, the 2015 La Londe is a lovely pale pink/orange color with subtle aromas of peach skin, citrus, brown spice, raspberry and rose petal. The palate is light, balanced and long with red currant, raspberry and yellow fruits, blood orange, spice with saline mineral flavors and creamy fruit in the long finish. Drinking beautifully now, it will improve over the next year or two and accompany an elegant ceviche, grilled tuna or chicken, salads, mild cheeses and berry desserts. Great sipped by itself as well - really delicious and highly recommended!

Les Fouques 2013 Côtes de Provence Cuvée de l'Aubigue Rouge

Primarily Grenache, with Syrah, Cinsault and Cabernet, this biodynamic red from Provence shows deep plum and blackberry fruit aromas with earth, citrus and Provençal herbs. The palate is ripe and supple with dense black fruits, prune and brown spice lifted by bright acidity. Serve with grilled meats and stews,  a daube niçoise perhaps, and full-flavored cheeses. Great value!
