The grapes come from the Annaberg, a vineyard of mostly sandstone soils, but the Chardonnay is planted on the western portion that has predominately chalk soils and ample shade, so the grapes ripen slowly. The warmth of the vintage manifests as a fantastic density of fruit (green apple, nectarine, green strawberry tartness) and luxurious texture with the tension of bright, malic acidity and stony, salty minerality. A fascinating iteration of Chardonnay! Cari Bernard
