Condello, Chiara 2022 Romagna Sangiovese Predappio

100% Sangiovese from 40 year old vines from young and up and coming winemaker Chiara Condello. She works her vines on the Romagna side of Emilia Romagna in the town of Predappio- South East of Bologna. Medium-full bodied with spice, licorice, cured black olive, purple flowers, bright acidity and bold, silky tannins. 

Chiara is a vegetarian, and this inspired me to consider pairing Sangiovese with meat-free meals and I can attest it works well with gnocchi with tomato and zucchini, braised beans with sage, garlic, and olive oil, and Ribollita.
